Keep PragerU out of NH education
Throughout this summer, we witnessed the swift integration of a far-right media company, PragerU, into Florida’s education system. PragerU falsely presents itself as an “education” and “entertainment” company, claiming to shape culture and preserve American ideals. However, these claims couldn’t be further from the truth.
PragerU’s videos aggressively promote a conservative agenda. They target elementary school-aged children with anti-LGBTQ+ content and spread misinformation, like asserting that fossil fuels are the safest and cleanest energy source.
Recently, New Hampshire Republicans made an attempt to introduce PragerU into our school systems by proposing that high school students receive academic credit for PragerU content. Education commissioner Frank Edelblut spearheaded this effort, advising the New Hampshire State Board of Education to approve the proposal. However, due to significant public outcry, the Board of Education decided to postpone a decision on the PragerU proposal until September.
If the board decides to approve this proposal, we run the risk of allowing politically motivated content to infiltrate our schools. It is crucial that we make it clear to the Republicans and Commissioner Edelblut that New Hampshire is not Florida, and PragerU’s curriculum has no place in our state.

I have a comment regarding the business article “Half of Americans expect to lose jobs to automation” published in the Aug. 18 Valley News (Page B3).
If businesses continue to prioritize increasing their profit margins by replacing paid workers with automation, who exactly do they expect to sell their products to in the future?
