What to Expect in February 2024

With the new year in full swing, Viz Media has announced a list of major releases for the month of February 2024. This includes new manga series along with the return of beloved stories. Also announced are DVD releases of your favorite movies.

All works can be purchased through Viz Media or authorized vendors. Here is a breakdown of all the major releases from Viz Media during February.

Series Debut

In the Name of the Mermaid Princess, Vol. 1 – Princess Mio is betrothed to Prince Chika. They’ve never met and he doesn’t know she is a mermaid. When her tutor, Yuri, takes her out of the castle to meet her subjects, Mio begins to accept her true self. But, when Mio tells her father she wants to live openly as a mermaid, he punishes her. How can she stay true to herself?

I Want to End This Love Game, Vol. 1 – After leaving behind his image as a quiet nerd, Yukiya’s ready for the ultimate high school experience. He has one girl in his sights—his best friend, Miku. Will his advances get her heart racing or make a fool out of him?

Status Royale, Vol. 1 – Status Royale is the game to master if you want to join the rank of elite VR esports players. Vell was only having fun as a casual gamer with her best friend and teammate Jun. Everything changes when he shuts her out. With a ’s competitive spirit unlocked, she vows to challenge her former best friend with her own team.

My Name Is Shingo: The Perfect Edition, Vol. 1 – When an industrial robot named Monroe begins to work at his father’s factory, Satoru is fascinated. As he and his friend Marin spend more time with Monroe, they start to suspect there’s much more to the machine than anyone else realizes.

Super Smartphone, Vol. 1, Vol.2, and Vol. 3 – Kyu Sagurada may be brilliant, but he is also taking the lazy route through high school. Everything changes when he stumbles across a phone that can search through any information on Earth. To curb his boredom, he starts solving local crimes and cold cases. Soon he realizes that this phone might be the only lead on a cold case near and dear to his heart—the disappearance of his younger brother.

Series Conclusion

Children of the Whales, Vol. 23 – Katakysmós has been unleashed and it is slowly consuming everything. The refugees on the Mud Whale must choose between fleeing through the forbidden territory or making a desperate last stand.

Anime Tie-Ins

Chainsaw Man, Vol. 14 – Asa and Denji are going on a date, but they each have ulterior motives. Asa just wants to turn Denji into a weapon, but he has other ideas.

Dragon Ball Super, Vol. 20 – Goku and Vegeta are both struggling to master their ultra form. However, they need to master it quickly if they want to defeat Gas.

Natsume’s Book of Friends, Vol. 29 – While helping a woman find her way through the woods, Natsume and Tanuma end up having to take cover from a storm. The only safe location is a mysterious mansion. The catch however is that they have to join a séance.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Vol. 10 – The strange tale of Macht, the fate of Weise, and Denken’s own past will all lead Frieren and her companions to one of their most difficult confrontations.

The Way of the Househusband, Vol. 11 – Tatsu must help Masa move his operation after he lands himself in trouble with his landlady. There’s just one problem, Masa lacks the funds.

Twin Star Exorcists, Vol. 30 – Rokuro learns the true identity of the King of the Kegare. But that won’t help him when his best friend is grievously wounded.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, Vol. 13 – After Shizuka is bitten by a zombie, Akira and the gang place their faith in a vaccine researcher. To save her, they will have to gamble on Izuna, the girl immune to the infection.

New Releases

My Special One, Vol. 5 – Akutagawa has found out about Sahoko’s relationship with Kouta. Meanwhile, the two have started a challenge, with Sahoko as the prize.

Prince Freya, Vol. 10 – Queen Mariam and the people of Asha have seized the upper hand against Lord Gleb. When it looks as though victory is within their grasp, Emperor Dimitri arrives with reinforcements.

Rainbow Days, Vol. 8 – Nozomi may have been rejected by Keiichi, but her feelings are stronger than ever. Determined to win his heart, she enrolls at Seiryo High.

The Elusive Samurai, Vol. 10 – Tokiyuki and the Elusive Warriors take on members of the Kanto Hisashiban.

Akane-banashi, Vol. 4 – During the final round of the Karaku Cup, Akane delivers a stunning performance. As the crowd is gripped with emotion, Akane receives a shocking review from her most hated foe.

Sakura, Saku, Vol. 2 – Saku has her long-awaited meeting with Ryosuke, only to discover he wasn’t the person who helped her. Learning that her feelings for him were based on a misunderstanding comes as a shock.

Heart Gear, Vol. 3 – Hildr has just won 50 back-to-back fights inside the warrior coliseum of Valhalla. Now faces her 51st opponent—Chrome. As the two face off, Roue is forced to watch helplessly from the confines of a storage room.

DVD Sets

Pokémon: Tales of Lugia – A double feature of two Pokemon movies that focus on Lugia. The Power of Us follows Ash and Pikachu has to work with a group to save Fula City. Pokémon the Movie 2000 has Ash and the group working to stop an evil Pokemon collector from unleashing an apocalyptic prophecy.

Pokémon: The Arceus Chronicles – After receiving a mysterious message from the Mythical Pokémon Arceus, Ash and the group head to Mount Coronet to investigate. There, they find the commanders of Team Galactic, who are determined to find their missing leader by opening a gate between dimensions.
