The Graham-Kapowsin High School football program is on the verge of completing an undefeated season and winning their second Class 4A state championship in three years.

In a thrilling back-and-forth contest, the No. 1 Eagles emerged victorious against the No. 4 Eastlake Wolves in the state semifinals. The game ended with a game-winning field goal as time expired, propelling Graham-Kapowsin to their first appearance in the final since their historic championship win in 2021.

Graham-Kapowsin took an early lead in the game and managed to hold off the Wolves’ comeback attempts. The Eagles’ offense and defense both delivered impressive performances, showcasing their skills and determination.

The Eagles opened the scoring with a touchdown pass from quarterback Daveon Superales to wide receiver Mika Roberson. They extended their lead with a field goal, but the Wolves fought back and took the lead before halftime.

However, in the second half, Graham-Kapowsin regained their composure and executed a successful rally. They scored a crucial touchdown in the third quarter to take the lead and managed to hold off the Wolves’ attempts to even the score.

In the final minutes of the game, Graham-Kapowsin’s offense managed a drive that set up a game-winning field goal opportunity. The Eagles’ kicker, Aidan Skolrud, confidently converted the 25-yard field goal, sealing the team’s 27-24 victory.

The win showcased the Eagles’ offensive prowess, gaining a total of 353 yards, including 215 rushing yards. Quarterback Daveon Superales completed 17 of 21 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns, while Mika Roberson led the receiving corps with four catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, the Eagles made crucial plays throughout the game, including a game-changing interception by Kase Betz and a strong performance by the entire defensive unit.

Graham-Kapowsin’s victory sets up a highly anticipated Class 4A state championship clash against defending champions, the No. 2 Lake Stevens Vikings. This will be the sixth time the Eagles face the Vikings in the state playoffs, with previous encounters resulting in a mixed record for Graham-Kapowsin.

Both teams have a storied history in the playoffs and are expected to put on an exciting spectacle at Husky Stadium. The Eagles are determined to secure their second state championship and avenge their semifinal loss to the Vikings in 2022.

With their unbeaten record and remarkable performance throughout the season, the Graham-Kapowsin High School football program has proven themselves as a force to be reckoned with. They remain focused on their ultimate goal of claiming the Class 4A state championship title.
