The Global Artificial Intelligence Journalism Index (GAIJI): Final Results Announced
Introduction
The Artificial Intelligence Journalism Research and Forecasting (AIJRF), a leading global organization in research, forecasting, and shaping the future of AI and the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions and Media of Metaverse, has announced the final results of the Global Artificial Intelligence Journalism Index (GAIJI). This index is the world’s first designed to measure, track, and visualize the performance of media outlets using AI journalism technologies in producing, publishing, and promoting content.
GAIJI Study
Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher, the president of the GAIJI, stated that the study of more than 60 international and Arab media outlets has been conducted over two years. The study included questionnaires, personal interviews, and telephone interviews with media outlets to ensure the validity of the information and identify the most prominent AI applications being utilized.
Participating Media Outlets
Abdulzaher mentioned that the GAIJI program included 60 media outlets worldwide, comprising media and entertainment companies as well as manufacturers utilizing AI tools and apps in content creation. The current results are based on the participation of these sample outlets.
Data Collection
The GAIJI Index collected data through various methods:
- Monitoring and analyzing data and information
- Conducting open opinion polls
- Performing personal interviews with experts
- Engaging in personal interviews with journalists in targeted media
Main Results
The GAIJI Main Results highlight the significant AI applications used by media outlets in the Middle East and North Africa, contributing to a 70% increase compared to traditional methods. The results aid in improving communication with target audiences, enhancing content quality, and meeting their interests effectively.
The Americas (43.01%) and Europe (39.78%) were found to be the leading regions in using AI applications for automated news and content, aligning with previous studies on technological advancements in the news media ecosystem.
AI & Arab Media Outlets
Among Arab media outlets, Al-Arabiya channel emerged as the first to experiment with different AI tools and applications in automated content creation. Other notable outlets include the Qatari Al-Jazeera Network, Bloomberg Asharq, Sky News Arabia, Blinx, Abu Dhabi Media Corporation, and Dubai Media Corporation. Moreover, the Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF) plays a crucial role in Arab content development and news on the Metaverse, serving as the leader in Media of Metaverse for 2 years.
AIJRF pioneers the use of artificial intelligence in content creation with over 350 applications and multiple news spaces on the Metaverse. It also contributes to creating media outlets and news agencies’ spaces in the Metaverse.
