The singer, 30, has not released any solo music since her sixth studio album Positions in October 2020. Her last solo single, “POV,” hit the radio in March 2021.

The song also touches on her controversial romance with Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, as she questions why others are so concerned about her personal life.

Grande and Slater confirmed their relationship earlier this year after ending their respective marriages. They met while filming the Netflix adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked.

The lyrics of “Yes, And?” emphasize the importance of staying true to oneself and not caring about others’ opinions. Grande declares that she is done with caring about what others think and will live her most authentic life.

Ariana has faced body-shaming and speculation about her weight in recent years. In the song, she addresses these issues by telling listeners not to comment on her body and asserting that her business is her own.

Earlier on Thursday, Grande shared a teaser trailer for the music video of “Yes, And?” which is set to premiere on Friday morning. The trailer depicts a group of critics speculating about Grande’s personal life and career moves.

Ariana revealed in December that she would release new music in 2024. She had put her music on hold to focus on filming the three Wicked movies and her R.E.M. Beauty business.

As for her management situation, Ariana previously parted ways with longtime manager Scooter Braun. However, there are still contractual obligations in place, and legal proceedings are pending over the termination of their contract.
