Every year since its foundation in 1971, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has hosted a highly significant meeting known as Davos. But what makes this event so noteworthy?

• In 2000, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (Gavi) was launched at Davos, leading to improved access to vaccines worldwide and contributing to the vaccination of 760 million children.
