An Amusing Incident Goes Viral
An amusing incident of an 11-month-old boy from Buffalo, New York derailing his baptism has taken the internet by storm.
A TikTok video showing the incident has gone viral. In the video, Candace Williams, the boy’s mother, is seen holding her son Sullivan near a baptismal fountain while a Catholic priest reads from a sacrament book.
The event took place at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Lancaster, with close friends and family present. Unexpectedly, Sullivan swiftly raised his hand and smacked the book into the holy water of the fountain, leaving everyone present in surprise.
The six-second video clip, posted about two weeks ago by Natalie Walczyk, Williams’ sister, has already garnered over 4.5 million views.
Williams, aged 35, revealed to TODAY.com that it was the priest’s first baptism at the church. She also mentioned that the priest graciously accepted her multiple apologies for her son’s actions. “He was a champ. He picked the book right back up and kept going,” Williams shared with the outlet.
She also humorously mentioned that the pages were soaking wet and her husband found it amusing every time he saw the dripping pages. Williams also stated that her brother and mother-in-law could not contain their laughter.
