Set to a sultry melody, Lynch’s distinctive vocals depict a lonesome cowboy who gets wrapped up in a whirlwind romance, despite the expectation that tough men like him tend to ride off into the sunset. The chorus of the song conveys the cowboy’s realization that it was the girl who “killed” him, rather than the usual suspects such as smoke or drink. The tune is produced by Zach Crowell and draws inspiration from The Animals’ hit, “House Of The Rising Sun.”
