The Lycoming Mall, owned by Famvest XII – Lycoming Mall, LLC, will undergo a transformative redevelopment, becoming “The District at Lycoming Valley.” Jon Jahanshahi, President of Famvest, announced the new name for the project, emphasizing the creation of a dynamic and versatile mixed-use community on the over 100-acre property.
The redevelopment aims to revitalize the retail center, which has experienced a decline in recent years. With a modern and vibrant design, “The District at Lycoming Valley” will offer a multi-use live, work, and shop destination that is currently lacking in the region.
Famvest chose the name to attract new businesses and patrons, seeking to bring about exciting change and prosperity to the area. Jahanshahi expressed his personal connection to the project as a resident of Muncy Township and emphasized the continuation of the mall’s legacy as a central retail and social hub.
In addition to boosting the local economy, the redevelopment will create numerous employment opportunities. The project expects to generate hundreds of full- and part-time jobs, catering to the expanding community and introducing new amenities and experiences.
Jason Fink, President/CEO of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, expressed the Chamber’s support for the redevelopment, believing it will attract businesses currently absent from the region. “The District at Lycoming Valley” aims to provide a diverse mix of retail and commercial space, healthcare services, housing, and recreational areas.
The redevelopment project, strategically located, intends to serve as a hub for residents and visitors, offering a dynamic and engaging environment for shopping, relaxation, and enjoyment. Famvest is currently in discussions with potential tenants and hopes to share more details about agreements in the near future.
