Get Your Kids Moving at the Audubon Community Nature Center Thanksgiving Camp

Audubon Community Nature Center’s Thanksgiving Camp on Wednesday, November 22, is a way to get children out of the house while parents prepare for Thanksgiving.

A Fun and Educational Experience for Kids

Area children between the ages of 5 and 11 have the opportunity to participate in the Audubon Community Nature Center Thanksgiving Camp. This camp offers an exciting outdoor experience that allows children to learn while they play.

An Outdoor Adventure

On Wednesday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., campers will have the chance to explore the crisp weather and crunchy leaves of late fall. They will also observe animals storing and gathering food, as well as plants preparing for winter.

Engaging Activities and Preparedness

During the camp, children will engage in a variety of activities such as outdoor play, climbing, running, and sensory exploration. It is recommended that children bring water, snacks, and a lunch that doesn’t require refrigeration. Additionally, they should bring extra clothing in case of wet conditions. As much of the day will be spent outdoors, it’s important for campers to dress appropriately for the forecasted weather.

Registration Details

The Thanksgiving Camp is open to children aged 5-11 and costs $48 per child. Nature Center member children receive a discounted rate of $36. Siblings of registered campers can enjoy a $5 discount. Due to staffing, the age range for campers for this particular camp is different from usual. Enrollment is limited, and reservations must be paid by Monday, Nov. 20.
