Amazon is set to release its holiday comedy film “Candy Cane Lane” on December 1st, starring Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross. The film is directed by Reginald Hudlin and is the first project to come out of Murphy’s three-picture and first-look film deal with Amazon Studios. Based on the experiences of writer Kelly Younger, the film follows a man who enters his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest and inadvertently makes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper. Chaos ensues when Pepper casts a magic spell, bringing the 12 Days of Christmas to life. Murphy’s character, along with his wife (Ross) and their three children, must race against the clock to break the spell and save Christmas for everyone.

The film also stars Jillian Bell, Thaddeus J. Mixson, Ken Marino, Nick Offerman, Robin Thede, Chris Redd, Genneya Walton, Madison Thomas, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Lombardo Boyar, D.C. Young Fly, Danielle Pinnock, Timothy Simons, Riki Lindhome, and Stephen Tobolowsky. “Candy Cane Lane” is produced by Eddie Murphy Productions, along with Brian Grazer and Karen Lunder for Imagine Entertainment.
