Shocking Turn of Events: Unbelievable Decision Made on Glen Lake Wildfire Evacuation in Peachland – Okanagan!

On Monday, due to scattered showers in the Central Okanagan, local officials took back all evacuation alerts for the Glen Lake wildfire near Peachland, B.C. They also downgraded the remaining evacuation order.

The fire, which was discovered on September 16, has remained the same size at 1,116 hectares since Thursday. However, eight recreational properties along Glen Lake Forest Service Road are still under evacuation alert. The BC Wildfire Service has classified the fire as being “held,” but firefighting crews are still actively combating the blaze.

Central Okanagan Emergency Operations mentioned that the visibility may be affected, which could impact the six helicopters that are currently dropping water on the fire. Nonetheless, mitigation efforts have been successful in preventing significant growth of the fire.

Additionally, structural protection crews are starting to remove equipment that is no longer needed in Peachland. More information about the fire can be found online.
