Driving Positive Workplace Culture and Strategic HR Initiatives
Effective Jan. 22, 2024, Petrov will assume the role of chief human resources officer for UAB Health System. He joins from Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, where he served as senior vice president/chief human resources officer.
CEO Dawn Bulgarella expresses confidence in Petrov’s capabilities, stating, “John brings a wealth of experience to UAB Medicine, along with a proven track record of fostering a positive workplace culture and driving strategic HR initiatives. Impressive Career Accomplishments
Petrov’s previous role at VCU Health involved overseeing human resources services for the $3.2 billion integrated and multi-site academic health system, employing over 14,000 individuals. Prior to that, he served as the executive vice president and chief caregiver officer at The Guthrie Clinic, a prominent rural healthcare system in Pennsylvania and New York.
