Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx was accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed in New York City on Wednesday. The lawsuit alleges that Foxx groped a woman at a rooftop bar and restaurant in Manhattan in August 2015.

The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, stated that the assault took place in a secluded corner of the Catch NYC rooftop lounge after she and a friend approached Foxx and had their pictures taken with him.

Foxx’s representatives have not yet responded to the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages.

The lawsuit claims that Foxx began groping the woman and putting his hands under her clothing against her will until her friend found them and interrupted the encounter.

Jamie Foxx is best known for his Academy Award-winning portrayal of singer Ray Charles in the film “Ray” and his supporting role in the film “Collateral.”

He is one of several high-profile celebrities to be accused of sexual wrongdoing under the Adult Survivors Act, a New York state law that allows such lawsuits to be filed even if the statutes of limitations have expired.

The deadline for filing these types of complaints under the law is at the end of this month.

In a separate case, music industry veteran Jimmy Iovine was also sued on Wednesday for alleged sexual abuse.

The plaintiff in the Iovine case claims that she was sexually abused, forcibly touched, and subjected to sexual harassment and retaliation in August 2007.

A spokesperson for Iovine expressed shock and disbelief at the complaint, stating that they had never heard of these allegations prior to the lawsuit.

Iovine co-founded Interscope Records and later partnered with Dr. Dre to launch Beats Electronics, which was acquired by Apple in 2014.

Other celebrities who have been sued under the Adult Survivors Act include Russell Brand, Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump, and Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Axl Rose, former lead singer of Guns N’ Roses, was also sued under the law for an alleged assault in 1989.
