The Philoptochos Society at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Plans Exciting Community Events

Collecting Socks for a Good Cause

The Philoptochos Society at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church has been collecting new socks of any size and style throughout October. All donations will be given to the Martha Manor Women’s Home and the Friendship Room. Sock donations will be accepted through November 5th and can be dropped off at the church located at 300 S. Third St.

Monthly Meeting and Dinner

The group’s monthly meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Holy Trinity Social Hall. Dinner will also be served that evening.

Monthly Gyro Sale

The church’s monthly gyro sale will be held on November 7th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gyros will be sold for $9 each, grape leaves three for $3.50, baklava for $3, tyropita for $3.50, melamakarona for $2.50, almond crescent cookies for $2, and koulourakia one dozen for $8. Orders can be placed by phone at (740) 282-9835 or faxed to (740) 282-2091. Minimum order preparation time is 20 minutes. Free delivery is available for orders of four or more gyros to businesses and parishoners only.

Veteran’s Day Luncheon

A Veteran’s Day luncheon will be held at noon on November 9th at Hellenic Hall. The event is free and honors all area veterans. RSVP by November 3rd by calling (740) 282-9835.

Cookie Decoration Class

The Philoptochos Society is hosting a cookie decoration class with Grammy Pammy’s Sweetery on November 14th at 6 p.m. Participants will learn how to decorate fancy cookies for Christmas with step-by-step instructions. The cost is $55 per person and includes practice materials, cookies with decorating embellishments, tips and tricks, drawings, and a cookie box to take home.

Glendi in the Ville

The church will be hosting Glendi in the Ville on November 24th at 8 p.m. The Greek Company Orchestra will be playing live music for attendees to enjoy. Pre-sale tickets are available for $25, and tickets at the door will be sold for $35. The event is open to all ages and will feature a cash bar and mezedes.
