The cabin of the mid-sized SUV is highly practical and offers ample space in both rows, which is not always common in vehicles of this size. This makes it ideal for taller families who will appreciate the generous legroom. The front passenger seat features eight-way power adjustments, allowing for optimal comfort. However, the driver’s seat offers even more perks with 10-way adjustments, lumbar support, and a two-position memory function. Both seats are equipped with a heat function, adjustable up to three levels, ensuring comfort during longer trips.

At the front of the GT P50e, there is a large 12.3-inch multimedia screen, providing easy access to various features and controls. The rear seats are well-padded and offer a convenient 40/20/40 split-fold, allowing for versatile internal storage options. Additionally, the outboard seats in the rear also have a heat function, further enhancing comfort for passengers.

One notable feature that particularly impressed a six-year-old passenger was the car’s easy accessibility. With a ground clearance of 175mm, it was effortless for the child to get in and out of the vehicle. The wide windows provided a good view, and the amenities such as the directional air vents and reading lights added to their enjoyment.

In terms of storage, both rows offer decent individual storage options. However, the front passengers have the advantage with two cupholders, extra-large storage bins in each door, a glove box, and a middle console (although somewhat shallow). Rear passengers have two cupholders in the fold-down armrest, small storage bins in each door, and a couple of map pockets.

The technology in the cabin imparts a premium feel, highlighted by two separate 12.3-inch digital screens on the dashboard. The multimedia system is relatively easy to use, but it would be more convenient if Mazda enabled touchscreen access, as relying solely on the rotary selector dial can be cumbersome while driving.

In terms of connectivity, the vehicle offers wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, along with built-in satellite navigation. The premium Bose sound system, boasting 12 speakers, provides an immersive audio experience. The car also offers a variety of charging options throughout. Upfront, there are two fast USB-C ports, a 12-volt socket, and a wireless charging pad. In the back seat, two more USB-C ports are available, along with a convenient 220-volt (150W) port for larger items. Additionally, the boot provides another 220-volt port, but with a higher capacity of 1500W, enabling connection of larger appliances.

The boot of the vehicle offers a practical capacity of 477 liters, providing ample space for storage. However, if additional space is required, the rear seats can be folded down, increasing the capacity to 1726 liters. Manual levers in the boot make the folding process easy. The level load space facilitates easy loading and unloading, and the presence of a powered tailgate adds to the convenience. It is worth noting that the car is equipped with a tyre puncture repair kit instead of a physical spare.

In summary, the cabin of the mid-sized SUV is highly practical, offering ample space in both rows. The seats provide comfort and adjustability, with the driver’s seat enjoying extra perks. The multimedia system and technology add to the overall experience, although touchscreen access would be a welcomed addition. Charging options and connectivity features are abundant throughout the cabin. The versatile storage options, premium sound system, and spacious boot further contribute to the practicality of the vehicle.
