The trade involves outfielder Jonny Deluca and pitcher Ryan Pepiot going to the Rays, while the Dodgers also receive outfielder Manuel Margot. The deal is contingent on Glasnow signing a five-year, $135 million extension with the Dodgers.

In another transaction, the Kansas City Royals reportedly signed right-hander Michael Wacha to a two-year, $32 million deal. Wacha had a successful season with the San Diego Padres in 2023 and will join Seth Lugo in the Royals’ rotation.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers introduced Shohei Ohtani at a media conference, where it was revealed that Ohtani’s dog’s American name is Decoy. Dodgers ownership expressed their disappointment with the team’s performance over the past decade, despite their playoff appearances and championship. The Detroit Tigers added former Cardinals starter Jack Flaherty on a one-year, $14 million deal to rebuild his reputation and enter free agency again next year.
