PANAMA — Franklinville/Ellicottville and Clymer/Sherman/Panama have emerged as the top contenders in Class D football throughout the season. A highly anticipated matchup between the two teams will determine the league champion.

In their recent game, Clymer/Sherman/Panama dominated Gowanda/Pine Valley with a convincing 56-12 victory at Jack Keeney Community Field. The Wolfpack demonstrated their superiority from the beginning, showcasing a nearly flawless offensive performance.

After a second-play interception, the Clymer/Sherman/Panama offense found its rhythm and scored on six consecutive drives. The Panthers managed to score just before halftime, but it was too little too late.

Head coach Ty Harper praised the resilience of quarterback Tate Catanese, who quickly bounced back from his early interception. The Wolfpack’s defense also excelled, with Collin Ryan returning an interception for a touchdown in the third quarter.

Clymer/Sherman/Panama dominated the ground game, outgaining Gowanda/Pine Valley by 273 to minus-16 yards. The Panthers managed to gain 208 yards through the air, but their efforts were not enough to overcome the Wolfpack’s dominance.

Bryce Posker led Clymer/Sherman/Panama with 123 rushing yards and a touchdown. Catanese contributed to the team’s success with 87 passing yards and three touchdowns.

The upcoming game between Clymer/Sherman/Panama and Franklinville/Ellicottville is highly anticipated, as it will determine the top seed for the playoffs. Both teams are expected to have a bye in the quarterfinals and will host semifinal playoff games.

In preparation for the game, Coach Harper emphasized the importance of balance in their gameplay. The team aims to showcase their versatility and different offensive strategies.

Despite the challenge ahead, the Wolfpack remains confident in their abilities. They are excited about the opportunity to face Franklinville/Ellicottville and showcase their skills on the field.
