Eisenhower High School emerged victorious in the annual Backyard Brawl against Youngsville High School, claiming a resounding 48-21 win on Alumni Night. The Knights showcased their dominance by winning five of the seven matches, leaving the Eagles with a disappointing defeat.

Knights Take Early Lead

The match kicked off with Eisenhower quickly establishing an 18-0 lead through three consecutive forfeits in the 152-pound weight class and above. Cole Kellogg, Aidan Nichols, and Tucker Lindell all secured victories without breaking a sweat.

Youngsville’s Mancuso Fights Back

In the first contested match of the night, Youngsville’s Aidan Mancuso faced off against Eisenhower’s Bryceton Wilkins in the 189-pound weight class. After falling behind 2-1 in the second period, Mancuso made a comeback with a reversal to take a 3-2 lead. He held on to secure the win and put the Eagles on the scoreboard.

Darr’s Quick Pin Secures Victory

Despite a brief resurgence from Youngsville, J.J. Darr of Eisenhower swiftly turned the tide in a 215-pound bout against Graeme Minnis. Minnis scored the first takedown, but Darr responded with a speedy reversal into a pin in just 44 seconds.

Eisenhower Seals the Deal

Eisenhower secured the match with consecutive pins at 114 and 121 pounds. Rever Caudill took only 1 minute and 44 seconds to defeat Youngsville’s Sarah Blauser, while Griffin Williams pinned Cole Johnson in 1 minute and 43 seconds. Ryan Chambers continued the winning streak with another pin at 127 pounds, sealing the victory for the Knights.

Eagles Show Late Resilience

Although trailing 42-9, Youngsville managed to earn 12 points in the next two matches. Michael Carnahan secured a quick pin against Ike’s Kita Nelson in just 22 seconds, while Kenneth Shellhouse won via forfeit in the 139-pound weight class.

Childs Ends the Night

The final match of the evening featured Derek Childs of Eisenhower against Youngsville’s Carsyn Branstrom at 145 pounds. Childs secured a pin in 1 minute and 8 seconds, concluding the contest with a strong win for the Knights.

Both Youngsville and Eisenhower will be back in action this weekend. The Eagles will be competing in the annual Fred Bell Tournament in Grove City, while the Knights will participate in the Sharon Duals.
