Man Struck and Killed by Car While Using Crosswalk in Henderson
On Friday night, a 28-year-old man was tragically struck and killed by a car in Henderson, Nevada. The incident occurred at the East Warm Springs Road crosswalk, where the pedestrian was crossing while the traffic light was still green for motorists, according to the Henderson Police Department. The man’s identity has not yet been released.
The accident was reported to police at approximately 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of North Boulder Highway and East Warm Springs Road. The man was traveling westbound in the crosswalk without the right of way when a black 2011 Infinity, traveling south on North Boulder Highway, collided with him. Due to poor visibility, the driver was unable to see the pedestrian and struck him.
Emergency services transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Neither speed nor impairment were factors in the collision, as confirmed by the police investigation.
The Henderson Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash. The Clark County coroner’s office will release the victim’s name once his next of kin have been notified.
