Disturbing Incident: Edminton Police Report Machete Attack at Southgate Transit Centre

Man Attacked with Machete at Southgate Transit Centre

A disturbing incident took place at the Southgate Transit Centre in Edmonton on Saturday evening. According to the Edmonton police, a man was threatened with a knife and subsequently attacked with a machete at around 8 p.m.

The victim, who was seated and waiting for an Edmonton Transit Service bus, was approached by a female suspect who brandished a knife and threatened him. Shockingly, a male suspect then sneaked up from behind and struck the victim’s arm with a machete.

The injured man was immediately rushed to the hospital with serious, albeit non-life-threatening injuries. At this point, it is unclear whether the two perpetrators are connected.

Reportedly, the female suspect fled on foot, heading south on 111th Street towards Whitemud Drive, while the male suspect escaped on a southbound LRT. It is believed by the police that the attack was a random act, as the victim had no prior acquaintance with the suspects.

If you have any information regarding these incidents, please contact the Edmonton police at 780-423-4567 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
