The Washington Commanders are set to hire Dan Quinn as their new head coach, according to multiple reports. Quinn, who is currently the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, previously served as the head coach for the Atlanta Falcons from 2015-2020. During his time in Atlanta, the team made the playoffs twice and won the NFC South division once. However, he was fired after an 0-5 start to the 2020 season. Quinn, who was named the NFL’s 2021 Assistant Coach of the Year, will be replacing Ron Rivera, who was fired in January after four seasons with the team. This move is the first major decision made by new Commanders general manager Adam Peters. With the hiring of Quinn, all NFL head coaching vacancies have now been filled. Other notable hirings this cycle include Raheem Morris as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and Jim Harbaugh as head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.
