After a successful career at Williamsport High School and playing for both Minnesota and Penn State, Trey Potts, a graduate of Williamsport, has set his sights on the NFL. Potts announced via Instagram on Friday that he will forego his remaining college eligibility and enter the 2024 NFL Draft.

Potts expressed his excitement in his Instagram post, saying, “The lessons learned, the challenges overcome, and the memories created have prepared me for my next chapter.”

In the 2023 season with Penn State, Potts had 25 carries, gaining 155 yards and scoring two touchdowns. He served as a backup to Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen.

Potts took the opportunity to express his gratitude to God, his parents, and all the supporters who have been with him throughout his football journey. He also thanked the coaches, staff, and fans at Penn State for giving him the chance to fulfill his dream of becoming a Nittany Lion.

Prior to his time at Penn State, Potts had an impressive four-year career at Minnesota, where he rushed for 1,195 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. In high school, he showcased his exceptional talent as a member of the Williamsport Millionaires, accumulating 3,490 rushing yards and 59 touchdowns in 31 games. His senior year alone saw him rush for 580 yards and three touchdowns, with an additional 126 yards and two scores through receiving.

Potts concluded his Instagram post by expressing his gratitude towards the University of Minnesota, stating, “The memories and relationships made during my time there will be cherished for a lifetime.”

The NFL Draft is scheduled to take place in Detroit from April 25-27.
